A Limerick
You once could buy limes for a dime
But money has changed over time
Our dollars are paper
The coins are a caper
O isn’t the Fed just sublime?

Ah, but . . .
You still can buy stuff for a dime
and surely even a lime
But you’ll need more than one
of dimes, almost a ton
And you’ll not get any of mine!
Ha!
Great limerick, Benjamin. Tis so sad that the Fed (not even a government institution, mind you), has found it in their hearts to spread the wealth (Obama’s a late-comer if he thinks his idea is “new”). Yes, a wealth created by printing, printing, printing. Need a few hundred billion? No problem. The Fed, and the presses, are at our service . . . well, not OUR service, but at least those getting bailed out can rest in peace now . . . ahem!
Yes, a great limerick, Benjamin. It’s just so sad that it strikes so blastedly true.
Thanks,
