Mini Music Fest 

Ages: 4 -10
Skill Level: Beginners to Moderately Accomplished.

This track intermingles violin, viola, cello, guitar and piano, with singing, drama, and dance for a creative, multi-sensory experience that is sure to keep a young mind engaged. The Mini-MusicFest participants will perform group numbers, as well as solos, duets, and other small ensembles in the two final shows.

SINGING, DANCE, & DRAMA

Troubadorables « Ages 6 – 10 »

Troubadorables – Ages 6-10 – Singers, actors and dancers who will join the string players for a colorful collage of music. 

Note: String players will also participate in singing/dance/drama. However, for some pieces the groups will be separate.

VIOLIN: violinists will be divided into four categories according to skill level:

In addition to Mini-MusicFest classes, string students and parents are invited to observe and attend the upper division string masterclasses with acclaimed teachers, Brian Lewis and Stephen Clapp. For more info click here.

Nano-Minis:  Ages 4-5 – For ready to begin, or just beginning, violinists and a parent or caregiver. This little group will kick off the final show with a string presentation freckled with singing and movement. Enrollment space is extremely limited, so tarry not.

Mini-Pearls: Ages 6 through 10 – Older children who have either been wanting to check out playing the violin or have just begun to play.

CrackerJacks: These children have participated in formal violin lessons, understand the basic methodology of holding the instrument, and have developed a measure of bow control and easy left hand finger motion.

WhipperSnappers: Students who have achieved a level of competence that enables them to play with ease of motion and stable positions, good bow control and intonation.

Violas:

Jim Dandys: Must possess a skill level equal to that of the Cracker Jacks or the Whipper Snappers. Violas will be grouped according to the number enrolled.

CELLOS:

Mini-Maestros: Must possess a skill level equal to that of the CrackerJacks or the WhipperSnappers. Cellos will be grouped according to the number enrolled.

GUITAR:

Balladeers: Beginning to elementary Guitar. Introduction of the instrument for beginning students and skill/age appropriate instruction for students who already possess a degree of knowledge.

Note: Students in need of an instrument must contact us as early as possible. Our store house is limited and we may have to beat the bushes.

PIANO:

Beginning and elementary piano is offered for students participating in the MiniMusic Fest. Piano students will be challenged in their individual studies, while exploring elements of singing and acting as a part of the final performance.

MINI-MUMS »

These sessions are designed for parents and teachers who desire to go home brimming with ‘tips’ on how to optimize practice time and avoid the pitfalls that derail musical progress as their child matures. Open to all interested adults but designed especially for Mums of the Nano-Minis.
